Utility Server Express

As long you don't use the Domino Server for server based Mailing and Collaboration stuff it should be OK to do with the Utility Server. Yes, you can replicate your own databases between the client and server.

But you have to do the mail sending/receiving from your client (you can easily add a POP3 or SMTP server to your client configuration), as only Domino Messaging Express allows server based mail sending, and Domino Collaboration Express allows the use of group calendars and Lotus Teamwork databases.

Since you are only trying to synch your own personal data, you don't clearly have a messaging or collaboration server need, they are meant for 2 or more people. But even with more than 1 people it depends how you use the server, to define what server license you need to use, for example you could have an unlimited number of web users and servers with Utility Express.
